Strung (2016)

Strung was a staged work that premiered at SAFEhouse Arts in San Francisco in July of 2016.

The work was a collaboration between several multi-disciplinary artists under the collective named Intra Movement, led by dancers Sophie Becker, Kristen Rulifson, Hien Huynh and directed by Iu-Hui Chua.

Strung explores our experiences of the labyrinths of daily life. Blending the mythologically-inspired imagery of Ariadne’s thread with movement and personal narratives, we ask: how do we keep our balance, our compassion, our grace, as we encounter the blind turns and switchbacks of life’s mazes? How do we, globally and locally and individually, choose to enter unfamiliar space, get lost, retrace our steps, navigate through obstacles, and through memory?
